Olivia Chaney stopped by the Current studios in St. Paul, Minnesota, during her US tour this summer, to perform songs from her new album, Shelter, on Radio Heartland. She spoke with host Mike Pengra about the album and performed three songs: "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," "Arches," and "Roman Holiday." You can now watch "Arches" below and listen to the full session at thecurrent.org.

Chaney's recent concert at Kings Place in London received a perfect five out of five stars from the Daily Telegraph. "The mood was studiedly contemplative, wistful, allowing you to luxuriate in that delicious state of feeling happy to be feeling sad—you might call it rapturous melancholia," writes reviewer Mick Brown. "Chaney's voice is a thing of sublime beauty, at times as fragile as the mist of a breath on a mirror, at others soaring in sweet glissando to the higher registers ... Forget the labels, she is a major artist, and completely her own person." Read the five-start review at telegraph.co.uk.

She performs next at Somerset House in London with Vessel on November 18, takes part in The Idler supper club at Coin Laundry in London on November 27, and launches the first 'Christmas with Lighthorne Folk' concert at Lighthorne Hall on December 14. The original cast album of Adam Guettel’s Broadway musical Days of Wine and Roses, with a book by Craig Lucas, starring Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James, is now available on CD, following its recent digital release. “Repeated listenings compound the amazement,” the New York Times says of Guettel’s work, which “has always offered that kind of challenge—initially leaving a feeling of: Beautiful, but wait, I need to hear it again—and those up for it have a way of coming away shining like Moses down from the Mount. The new score has the same effect.” Guettel, O'Hara, and d'Arcy James—all of whom have been nominated for Tony Awards for Days of Wine and Roses—will sign copies of the CD at the Drama Book Shop in NYC this Wednesday, May 22.
