Iron and Wine, who is due to return to the road this fall touring North America, stopped by the SiriusXM studios to perform on Outlaw Country earlier this year. The appearance, part of the first leg of the tour celebrating the released of the critically acclaimed Nonesuch debut album, Ghost on Ghost, this spring, included a number of performances from singer-songwriter Sam Beam and the band of songs off the new album. You can now watch those performances—"Grace for Saints and Ramblers," "The Desert Babbler," and "Grass Widows," plus the song "Lean Into the Light," off their previous album, Kiss Each Other Clean—below.

Upon the release of Ghost on Ghost in April, Uncut said that the record “insinuates itself into the listener’s consciousness like a film—one that demands to be watched over and over … It’s a stunner.” Ghost on Ghost is the fifth release from Beam using the pen name Iron and Wine and was produced by his longtime associate Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Califone, Fruit Bats). The fall tour of North America from Beam and a 12-piece band kicks off at First Avenue in Minneapolis on September 18 and includes stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, and more. Ghost on Ghost features a group of stellar musicians including Rob Burger, Steve Bernstein, Brian Blade, Curtis Fowlkes, Tony Garnier, Marika Hughes, Briggan Kraus, Maxim Moston, Tony Scherr, Doug Wieselman, Kenny Wolleson, and Anja Wood. Burger (Tin Hat Trio) has worked with Beam intermittently through the years and handled arrangements for strings and horns on Ghost on Ghost.

The original cast album of Adam Guettel’s Broadway musical Days of Wine and Roses, with a book by Craig Lucas, starring Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James, is now available on CD, following its recent digital release. “Repeated listenings compound the amazement,” the New York Times says of Guettel’s work, which “has always offered that kind of challenge—initially leaving a feeling of: Beautiful, but wait, I need to hear it again—and those up for it have a way of coming away shining like Moses down from the Mount. The new score has the same effect.” Guettel, O'Hara, and d'Arcy James—all of whom have been nominated for Tony Awards for Days of Wine and Roses—will sign copies of the CD at the Drama Book Shop in NYC this Wednesday, May 22.
