Bombino has performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, the 300th episode in the series of intimate sets at the desk of All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen, featuring three songs from his Nonesuch debut album, Nomad. Bombino stopped by the offices of NPR Music in Washington, DC, during the first leg of his US tour earlier this year, to perform a Tiny Desk Concert—the 300th episode in the series of intimate sets at the desk of All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen. The Niger-born Tuareg singer/songwriter/guitarist and his band perform three songs—"Tamiditine," "Her Tenere," and "Imuhar"—from his Nonesuch Records debut album, Nomad, which was produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach.
Boilen, praising Bombino's "fierce, hypnotic guitar playing" and "amazing jams," also recognizes a "familiarity in his music stems from the blues," with connections to Jimi Hendrix, and "a sense of simple, honest discovery that shows up in his smile as he plays."
