Following a sold-out London show in September and performance on Later… With Jools Holland last month, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Olivia Chaney has announced a run of UK dates in March 2019 in support of her acclaimed album, Shelter, released on Nonesuch Records in June. The tour begins in Whitstable on March 3, followed by shows in London, Southampton, Cambridge, Bristol, and Manchester. The Southampton show falls on International Women’s Day and will feature a specially curated program to include songs by Chaney’s favorite female songwriters. See below for details, and visit nonesuch.com/on-tour for all the latest.

Chaney, following a long period of life on the road, returned to a family retreat, a rustic, 18th-century cottage in the hills of the North Yorkshire Moors, to write the songs of Shelter. It has been nominated as Album of the Year in the 2018 fRoots Critics Poll and was recently included among the Best Albums of 2018 per Uncut magazine, which called it "transcendent." The Observer declares it "an elegant, luminous album."

To pick up a copy of Shelter, head to your local record store, iTunes, Amazon, and the Nonesuch Store, where orders include a download of the complete album at checkout; it can also be heard on Spotify and Apple Music

The Staves stopped by the NPR offices in Washington, DC, while on tour to perform a Tiny Desk Concert of four songs from their new album, All Now: the title track, "Fundamental Memory," "I'll Never Leave You Alone," and "So Gracefully." "The Tiny Desk setting perfectly illuminates the power and talent of their voices," says NPR's Kara Frame. You can watch it here.

The original cast album of Adam Guettel’s Broadway musical Days of Wine and Roses, with a book by Craig Lucas, starring Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James, is now available on CD, following its recent digital release. “Repeated listenings compound the amazement,” the New York Times says of Guettel’s work, which “has always offered that kind of challenge—initially leaving a feeling of: Beautiful, but wait, I need to hear it again—and those up for it have a way of coming away shining like Moses down from the Mount. The new score has the same effect.” Guettel, O'Hara, and d'Arcy James—all of whom have been nominated for Tony Awards for Days of Wine and Roses—will sign copies of the CD at the Drama Book Shop in NYC this Wednesday, May 22.
