Pianist Jeremy Denk is the guest on the latest episode of Speaking Soundly, a podcast in which host and MET Opera Principal Trumpet David Krauss talks with fellow performers about their creative process and lives as artists. Denk talks with Krauss about his acclaimed memoir, Every Good Boy Does Fine, shares lessons he learned from numerous piano teachers over the years, and more. “In addition to being one of America’s foremost pianists, a MacArthur ‘genius’ grant recipient, and Avery Fisher Prize winner,” Krauss says, “Jeremy Denk is also a New York Times best-selling author.” You can hear their conversation here via Spotify and Apple Podcasts:

On his latest album, Mozart Piano Concertos, Jeremy Denk is joined by The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra for two Mozart concertos—No. 25 in C Major, K. 503, and No. 20 in D Minor, K. 466—bookending the composer's solo Rondo in A Minor, K. 511. "Denk approaches everything with questing intelligence and energy," says the Observer. "His ornaments and cadenzas are full of wit and imagination, his ear for detail incisive and bracing. The excellent Saint Paul players match his variety and range of expression. As ever, Denk’s probing liner notes shed light, making an already engrossing album more than worth the purchase.” You can hear it here.

Jeremy Denk has concert performances through the year, both in solo recitals and with orchestra, including dates in North Carolina and at Ravinia this month, followed by London, Providence, DC, Oberlin, Boston, Denver, San Diego, and more in the months ahead.
